Tripoli — Libya’s oil production remains at around 1.4 million barrels per day (bpd), with output not significantly affected by a recent closure, the head of the state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC) told Reuters.
The comments suggest that Libya’s crude production has remained relatively resilient despite operational disruptions, underscoring the importance of the country’s oil sector to domestic revenues and global supply.
Libya, a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), has frequently experienced fluctuations in oil output because of infrastructure problems, political disputes, security issues and disruptions at oilfields and export facilities.
The NOC’s latest assessment indicates that the closure has so far had only a limited impact on overall production levels.
