Egyptian fertiliser producer Misr Fertilizers Production Company (MOPCO) has appointed Osama Abd Elrahman Morsi Youssef as its new chief executive officer and managing director, replacing Ahmed Mahmoud Elsayed.
The company’s board approved the appointment in a resolution that takes effect immediately, with Youssef assuming his duties from the date of the decision.
MOPCO, listed on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker MFPC.CA, is a key player in Egypt’s fertiliser industry, a sector that supports agricultural production and contributes to the country’s industrial and export activities.
The leadership change comes as fertiliser producers operate within a market shaped by agricultural demand, energy costs, production expenses and international trade conditions.
However, the company has not disclosed further details regarding the reasons for the management change or the incoming chief executive’s immediate priorities.
